Prospective Sunshine Coast apartment buyers will have another chance to secure an apartment by the burgeoning South East Queensland apartment developer, Mosaic Property Group.
Mosaic sold out their Sunshine Coast development L’Orient, 15 apartments around the corner from their new project on Duporth Avenue, just to their database last year, securing a Sunshine Coast record $7.5 million for the 571 sqm penthouse amalgamation.
Their newest plans are at 17-19 The Esplanade, where Bureau^proberts, who designed L’Orient, have again been commissioned to design the two striking buildings.
There are two buildings across the amalgamated 1821 Sam site, one with 34 apartments which will be more affordable priced, a mix of two and three-bedrooms. Next door will be a more luxury block of just seven full floor apartments.
Bureau^proberts said in the design statement submitted to the local council that the project was inspired by the natural coastal surrounds of Maroochydore.
“Taking cues from the sweeping headlands, both buildings compliment the other with articulated facades, soft scalloped forms and lightweight screening elements representing the coastline carved by the ocean over time,” the statement read.
the project will offer two frontages, resulting in views over the Maroochy River from The Esplanade and hinterland views from a Memorial Avenue.
They say The Esplanade-facing building, which is the one per floor apartment building, is a unique architectural statement, with sculptured edges that ebb and flow across the building’s exteriors.
”Beyond aesthetics, the angled batten screens provide privacy from the neighbouring buildings whilst directing and framing occupants’ views out to the ocean and create an opportunity to allow for greenery to be incorporated into the facade.”
The higher density Memorial Ave building is presented by strong external forms, luxurious but resilient materials and a focus on generous outdoor living areas.
All apartments celebrate passive design principles, with an emphasis on cross- ventilation and sun protection, creating comfortable living spaces both inside and out.
The Cotton Tree project will also incorporate a ground floor, open-air recreation area, complete with lounges, a pool and a gym.
Mosaic have a number of projects in their pipeline, including a few in Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, and in inner west Brisbane.
