Quality Manager – Rectifications – Brisbane

More

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role sits at the centre of how Mosaic protects its brand, elevates the customer experience beyond completion, and continuously improves the quality of what we deliver.

As Quality Manager – Rectifications, you will play a key role in the end-to-end management of defects and rectification across completed projects — shaping how issues are resolved, how customers experience that process, and how insights are fed back into construction to prevent recurrence. Your impact will extend across the full lifecycle, influencing not just outcomes post-completion, but the way future projects are delivered.

Working cross-functionally with Construction, Customer Care, Caretaking, Design and Development, you will provide strategic leadership across defect management, rectification delivery, compliance, and operational quality assurance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring outcomes are not only timely and compliant but aligned to the level of quality and care that defines Mosaic.

You will oversee post-completion activities through the Defects Liability Period and statutory warranty periods, leading the coordination, prioritisation and resolution of defects and rectification works — while driving continuous improvement through data-led insights, stronger quality practices, and elevated delivery standards.

Key responsibilities of this role will include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the Property Care, Rectifications and Defects & Compliance team to deliver effective defect and rectification outcomes.
  • Oversee end-to-end rectification projects from assessment and planning through to completion and close-out.
  • Ensure all works comply with quality standards, contractual obligations, and relevant legislation (including NCC/BCA and QBCC)
  • Drive prioritisation and resolution of defects based on risk, safety, customer impact, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on construction standards, compliance, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor defect trends, subcontractor performance, and quality risks to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee audits, inspections, and defect investigations, ensuring timely resolution and accurate reporting.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including subcontractors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, representing the business professionally.
  • Support commercial performance by monitoring budgets, timelines, risks, and project delivery outcomes.
  • Lead responses to escalated defects and customer issues in a proactive, customer-focused manner.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, defect registers, and quality documentation, providing insights to senior leadership.
  • Foster a high-performing team culture through leadership, mentoring, and continuous development.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in quality, defects or rectification management within construction, ideally high-rise/residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, workmanship standards, and defect identification
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and drive outcomes
  • Solid understanding of relevant standards (ISO9001, Australian Standards, QBCC)
  • Experience with audits, non-conformances, root cause analysis, and engaging with external regulators
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant qualification desirable
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast will be required.
