An open-air cinema, a luxury rooftop pool, sky bridge and health and wellness centre – take a look inside the East Brisbane residential development promising to deliver 2000 jobs.

An open-air cinema, fully equipped gym, a health and wellness centre and a flashy rooftop pool with city views are just some of the features of a new, $91 million residential development set to bring in more than 2000 jobs over the next two years.

Construction starts today on Mosaic Property Group’s The Sinclair Residences at 152 Toohey St, East Brisbane with the official turning of the sod ceremony with the Brisbane City Council’s deputy mayor.

The development, scheduled to be complete in mid-2022, is a two-nine storey buildings project, which will be connected by a sky bridge and will also include 122 two and three-bedroom apartments.

The Sinclair will also feature facilities such as a fully equipped gym, library/executive lounge, a dual-rooftop recreational level with pool, open-air cinema, a yoga lawn, private dining and barbecues and seatings pods.

There will also be retail space in the development with a ground floor coffee shop, health and wellness centre as well as extensive green space.

Katie Meyer from Mosaic Property Group said the strong sales performance from the company’s other complex in Fortitude Valley, The Patterson’s, had fast-tracked the start of construction of The Sinclair.

“Creating two separate, boutique buildings, rather than one large mass, reduces perceived size and scale while allowing extensive ground-floor planting and additional public space,” Ms Meyer said.

“This was critical to ensuring harmony with existing suburban characteristics.

“In addition, The Sinclair offers an uncommon level of amenity for residents to enjoy. In total, it provides 1236 sqm of residential facilities, which equates to over 10 sqm per apartment.”

Ms Meyer said sales for the new development had already been a success with more than 85 per cent already sold despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Sinclair continues a trend of new, flashy apartment complexes built in suburbs just south of Brisbane’s CBD including the neighbouring Kangaroo Point, Woolloongabba and more.
