Mosaic Property Group MS Swimathon 2019

Mosaic Property
15/10/19

For the past three years, Mosaic have contributed to the Sunshine Coast MS Swimathon as the major sponsor, but also with a dedicated team of co-workers, and their supportive families, who swim in a 12 hour relay to raise vital funds for Queenslanders living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

In its third year of Mosaic sponsorship, the annual MS Swimathon is all about participation, having fun and raising funds to help beat MS. Each year Mosaic team members, Luke de Nys and Ned Mott, raise a team of keen swimmers, along with their dedicated families, to head to the Sunshine Coast for a great day (all 12 hours of it) in the pool. And MS Queensland provides a great day out, with music, games, and food; as well as competitions throughout the day and prizes for the best-dressed team and highest fundraisers.

The long day on 12 October saw sunshine, rain, a thunderstorm, and a sunset. Bad weather aside, nothing was able to dampen the team spirits on the day, with 2019 being the biggest year yet. A mammoth $40,000 was raised and over 200 participants turned up to swim and show their support.

Each year has seen an improvement in money raised and the level of participation, from Mosaic’s first entry in 2017 raising $20,000 with 50 participants, to the popular and successful event it is today. Funds raised go towards establishing a new well-being centre on the Sunshine Coast to support and aid those living with MS.

Through the assistance of Mosaic’s supportive stakeholders, whose combined contributions saw the Mosaic team raise the highest team donation, $16,000 was donated to the worthy cause.
