As a Mosaic Property Group Sustainable Development, The Prescott by Mosaic will feature a range of environmentally friendly initiatives and has proudly achieved a 6 leaf EnviroDevelopment certification.

This is a true honour that exemplifies our commitment to curating homes founded in conscious design and construction and responsible, ongoing maintenance.

What is an EnviroDevelopment?

Growing awareness of environmental concerns, rapid population growth, and exciting advances in science and technology have placed sustainable urban development firmly on the public agenda.

With this in mind, the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) developed the ground-breaking environmental certification system – EnviroDevelopment.

EnviroDevelopment is a scientifically-based assessment scheme that independently reviews development projects and awards certification to those that achieve outstanding performance across four or more of the provided elements – Ecosystems, Waste, Energy, Materials, Water and Community.

EnviroDevelopment makes it easier for purchasers to recognise and, thereby, select more environmentally sustainable developments and lifestyles.

The Prescott is a limited collection of generously sized 2-and 3-bedroom residences and 3-bedroom Masterpiece Sky Homes over 14 levels. Meticulously planned and considered, each residence will offer gracious proportions, abundant natural light, and a welcome flow of space and air.

The product of a triumphant partnership with design firm DKO, The Prescott draws on local historical references to create something refreshing and new while honouring timeless architecture and materiality.

A strong emphasis on landscaping breathes life into each facade, with Residents soon to benefit from exceptional rooftop recreation spaces, including a pool, gymnasium, and multiple dining and entertaining zones that capitalise on priceless, panoramic views of the Brisbane River, Mount Coot-Tha and the city skyline.

The Prescott’s Sustainability Initiatives

Our approach to sustainable practices is holistic, looking through a social, economic and environmental lens to craft a residence that is highly sympathetic to its surroundings and, ultimately, a positive addition to the local community.

Some features that contributed to The Prescott’s 6 Leaf EnviroDevelopment certification include:

  • Choosing a location that is fundamental to delivering a sustainable outcome, with proximity to urban and lifestyle amenity.
  • An optimal building orientation that maximises city views and a northern aspect while minimising exposure to the western sun.
  • Selecting environmentally-conscious building materials with a low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) rating and incorporating recycled materials wherever possible.
  • Maximising cross-ventilation opportunities through intelligent apartment layouts and elevated ceilings.
  • Full-height glazing and operable windows will allow abundant fresh breezes and natural light, reducing energy costs.
  • Incorporating sustainability initiatives beyond regulatory requirements, including LED lighting and solar panels.
  • Energy-efficient lifts will result in no machine rooms, intelligent automation, and standby modes.
  • Installing CO monitors in The Prescott’s basement to maintain optimal air quality for Residents.
  • Lush and extensive deep planting at ground level and abundant greenery up the building facade and upper floors will foster a vibrant ecosystem and positively impact air quality while enhancing The Prescott’s aesthetic appeal.
  • Incorporating native plant species into the rooftops landscaping will reduce the need for additional watering and fertiliser.
  • Water-wise initiatives, including a rainwater harvesting system, will nourish The Prescott’s abundant planting year-round and reduce the building’s reliance on external water supply.

The Prescott’s construction is well underway, with a projected completion date of early 2025. No expense has been spared to create a collection of homes that are as beautiful as they are comfortable and sustainable. Click here to learn more about this inspiring residence.
