Our People: Adam Jubb – Head of Caretaking

What did you do before coming to Mosaic?

I’m a Cabinet Maker/Joiner by trade and did this for 15 years before moving into building maintenance and facility management through the mining sector. I worked FIFO for five years as a Maintenance Manager at various BMA facilities in Moranbah before returning to Brisbane and joining Mosaic in early 2016. I can still build a pretty flash kitchen!

Describe what your role is, which department do you work for, what does your department do?

As The Head of Caretaking, I’m responsible for delivering the duties within our caretaking agreements. I work with many other departments at various stages for caretaking input; my role is to keep the buildings looking and running the way they were completed.

When I first started at Mosaic, it was just me in the Caretaking team, and now our team has grown to 18 and looking to be 20 by years end.

Together with the team, we are constantly working hard to keep what we have promised as a group at a high standard – we like to think we look at building management differently.

In your role at Mosaic, what are you most passionate about?

When a client settles on their new property, they are always super excited. The challenge for Caretaking is making sure that excitement continues long term – maintaining the buildings and keeping the promise to our clients is what I’m most passionate about.

What do you love most about coming to work every day?

I love the people who work at Mosaic and how different departments band together to bring a project to life and keep that project as good as it was the day it was completed.

The process and challenges that come with this are what I enjoy the most, and working on them with the team we have.

Describe Mosaic in one word.

Virtue also Intense.

How do you like to relax/spend your downtime?

Hanging out with my family/friends is where my time goes; switching off from work and being present is super important for our household.

I also like to hit the gym and eat up a storm. Until now, my downtime was spent working on the family renovations, but now that is finished, there have been a few afternoon naps on the weekend!

Do you have any mentors or people you look up to or have helped you along the way?

Over the years, I have had a couple from my Dad teaching me about work ethic from a young age to my best mate – who has a brilliant business brain that I regularly tap into. Through to the various leaders in our business, I have had my most personal growth; listening to and watching our leaders is where it’s at for me.
