We believe real change begins with action that matters. The Mosaic Foundation was created to turn that belief into impact — supporting initiatives that address urgent needs and create lasting outcomes for individuals and communities.
One of the most profound expressions of this commitment is our enduring partnership with Destiny Rescue, an organisation devoted to freeing children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Their mission is as critical as it is courageous.
We recently reached out to Destiny Rescue’s Partnerships Team Leader (QLD | NT), Matt Whittaker to hear about their most impactful year on record rescuing children at a pace unmatched since they began in 2001.

Destiny Rescue was founded by Tony Kirwan who was driven by a mission to rescue children from sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Commencing in Thailand, the Founder and International President, has now grown his team and organisation into a family of worldwide rescue missions. From Asia to Africa and other disclosed locations, Destiny Rescue has now surpassed 20,000 rescues, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward freeing 100,000 children by 2032.
A Record Year of Impact
Destiny Rescue has marked one of its most impactful years yet with their efforts reaching unprecedented momentum, averaging 500 rescues every month in 2025.
This is the equivalent of more than 115 children each week, a figure not seen in their history since their founding 24 years ago.
This growth is reflected in the strength of their partnerships, the refinement of their rescue strategies, and their expansion across key regions in Asia and Africa.
Matt Valentine, Destiny Rescue’s Global Counter-OSEC (Online Sexual Exploitation of Children) Director said his exposure to this type of work sees the worst and best of humanity.
“Every rescue, every restored childhood, and every hopeful new beginning has been made possible because of our team, partners and supporters. The generosity, belief, and collaboration have fuelled this most successful year yet.

Scaling Amid Complexity
While rapid growth brings opportunity, complexity increases. With rescue numbers rising, Destiny Rescue faces the challenge of systemising processes to scale safely across diverse countries, laws, and cultures.
For the Global Counter-OSEC team, the reality is relentless. Each day begins with the same haunting directive: “Keep searching for child X.” Somewhere in the world, that child is still being abused. Finding them can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Valentine said, “Right now, we hold the faces of more than 75,000 Thai children being exploited online, children we haven’t found yet. We will. But it takes time… time those children don’t have.”
Behind the Headlines
As they advance their specialised OSEC work, Destiny Rescue’s efforts are gaining global attention.
Matt was recently featured on a 7 Spotlight documentary, Keeping our Kids Safe, for their two-year pursuit to rescue a five-year-old girl named Chelsea, an investigation that ultimately exposed 395 Australians funding her abuse online.
The Girl Behind the Green Gate is the harrowing recount of how Destiny Rescue Agent, Caleb, went searching into the internet’s darkest corners to help rescue Chelsea from a prolific international child trafficker.
A Changing Landscape of Exploitation
With the rise of technology-facilitated abuse, the global landscape of child exploitation is now changing rapidly, and Destiny Rescue is having to adapt through the strengthening of partnerships, expanding digital investigations and continuing collaborations.
Valentine warns of an alarming rise in cases involving children exploited online, often from their own homes under pressure or coercion via their own digital devices.
“The industry is becoming more resistant, more organised, more hidden, and increasingly global. Demand for live-streamed exploitation, facilitated through encrypted platforms, continues to rise.
“At the same time, our on-the-ground teams continue to run targeted operations in bars, brothels, private establishments, border checkpoints, and remote communities where vulnerable children are at risk.
“In our most recent rescues over the past 18 months, what’s been shocking is the average age of victims is lowering down from 11, to the youngest just 2 years old. And heartbreakingly, many Australians are among those funding this abuse,” Valentine said.
Australia now ranks third globally for viewing and purchasing Child Sexual Abuse Material, and Destiny Rescue continues to raise awareness and be a voice for survivors, helping communities understand the realities of modern child exploitation.
“We will keep advocating to the Australian Government for more substantial penalties for perpetrators and improved civil remedies for victims, ensuring justice systems keep pace with the evolving nature of exploitation,” he explains.
Valentine recently shared these powerful insights at a series of three Rescue Breakfast’s in South East Queensland, where co-Founder of the Mosaic Foundation, Kathryn Monahan shared the stage with other supporters to highlight how long-term partnerships turn into successful outcomes. Held in Brisbane on Wednesday November 5th at the Tattersall’s Members Club, the room was full of passionate business and community leaders lending their voice to inspire others and bring freedom and hope to vulnerable children, both locally and globally.

Mosaic’s Enduring Commitment
Mosaic Property Group is a proud long-term partner of Destiny Rescue, spanning more than seven years.
During this time, Mosaic has contributed significant funds and support, directly resulting in the rescue and liberation of over 100 children to date. The impact of these rescues and restorations has seen a daily reality returned to these children’s lives.
With Destiny Rescue’s cause and mission being so incredibly close to Mosaic’s heart, the ongoing efforts and financial contributions are the reason why we want to help them achieve their unwavering vision.
2025 Most Impactful Achievements
- Through The Scientia Program, a counter-OSEC initiative delivered in partnership with the Global Counter-Trafficking Group, Destiny Rescue strengthened their ability to identify victims online, support police investigations, and disrupt complex digital networks.
- Several pilot projects in border monitoring, law enforcement collaboration, and rapid-response rescue models also delivered promising results, paving the way for further expansion in 2026.
- This year reinforced the importance of strong, repeatable frameworks: clear operational methodologies, robust partner agreements, refined aftercare pathways such as Freedom Plans™, and consistent monitoring systems.
