Construction Progress Round-up – June 2024

We are right at the pointy end with three projects set to be completed within the next few months - The Witton by Mosiac (Indooroopilly), Augusta by Mosaic (Burleigh Heads), and Florence by Mosaic (Burleigh Heads). Meantime, excellent progress continues to be made on our further seven construction sites across South East Queensland, each of which are hitting some exciting milestones.

Sunshine Coast

Cotton Tree by Mosaic | Cotton Tree

Address: 17 The Esplanade, Cotton Tree

Apartments: Two boutique buildings featuring 8 full-floor, ultra-luxurious 3-bedroom residences and 33 spacious 2- and 3-bedroom residences.

Sales Status: SOLD OUT

Last month, Mosaic Construction completed the Basement 1 slab pour under Building 2.

The team are also in the final stages of preparing for the ground floor slab pour for Building 2, while Building 1 (The Esplanade) its maintaining its own steady ascent and is now at Level 4.

Mosaic Construction achieved The Manning’s first Level 6 major concrete slab pour in May.  Following the finalisation of the precast columns connecting Level 6 to Level 7, they will then carry out the second concrete slab pour for Level 6.

At the same time, facade blockwork is advancing to Level 5, where, internally, window installation, wall framing, and high-level services are underway. If all goes according to plan and weather conditions remain favourable, Mosaic Construction will complete the two Level 7 concrete slab pours this month and start forming Level 8.

It is full steam ahead at The Prescott with Mosaic Construction progressing with concrete slab pours to their target schedule, achieving both the Level 5 and Level 6 pours in May.

Weather permitting, the team are targeting to complete the Level 7 concrete slab pour this month and start forming Level 8. Internally, window installation, wall framing, and high-level services are underway.

With completion now firmly on the horizon, Mosaic Construction continues the exciting task of progressively removing The Witton One and The Witton Two’s scaffold.

Works also persist on the magnificent 1060sqm rooftop space, with 1.5km of wire trellis installed to the crown, ready for climbing plants to establish and create a lush canopy over the 175m walking track around the roof’s perimeter. The pool will shortly be filled with over 100,000 litres of water.

Mosaic Construction continues bringing The Mowbray’s elegant interior spaces to life, advancing window installation to the upper levels, kicking off wall and ceiling framing and sheeting to Levels 5 and 6, and applying the first coat of paint to Level 3.

Meanwhile, tiling advances to Levels 2 and 3, accompanied by the preparatory grinding of floors for the subsequent installation of carpet and hybrid timber.

On the external front, progress is evident on the stunning rooftop recreation area, notably the pool, which will start to be constructed this month, weather permitting.

Last month, Mosaic Construction successfully installed Isabel’s dewatering plant, a crucial step in maintaining a dry and stable site.

Having achieved this, the team also kicked off the next significant stage, Isabel’s basement excavation, which will continue throughout June.

The milestone task of progressively removing Augusta’s scaffold continues to advance while finishing work progress internally to the upper levels.

Landscaping and shaping Augusta’s common area amenities are ongoing, as well as basement car park line marking and epoxy works.

Weather permitting and all going to plan, the team is also making the final preparations to dismantle Augusta’s crane, another signal of our rapid approach to the finish line.

Following Augusta’s update above, the removal of scaffolding is also progressing at Florence.

Meanwhile, external rendering is nearing completion, alongside the installation of external screening, balcony soffits, and balustrades.

Wall setting and sanding have concluded to all levels, while tiling progresses on Levels 7 through 9. The installation of stone benches and timber flooring is proceeding according to schedule, along with electrical fit-off, interior painting, and the placement of custom joinery, elevating the space’s exquisite charm.

Below ground, Mosaic Construction is advancing the installation of Lily’s basement amenities, including plumbing and electrical wiring.

May witnessed the completion of the first of two pours for Lily’s Level 2 “biscuit slab.” Mosaic Construction will complete the second Level 2 biscuit slab pour this month and, weather permitting, prep and pour the Level 3 slab.

In May, Marella’s tower structure reached Level 20 with the aim to reach Level 24 in June, weather permitting. Similarly, glazing installation progressed rapidly, with the team currently working on Level 17.

Wall framing has reached Level 16, with services rough-in close behind at Level 15. Wall and ceiling sheeting are advancing at Level 14, internal wall painting at Level 12, and floor tiling at Level 10.

Joinery fitting is progressing to Level 8, while stone and hybrid timber flooring and carpet laying are finalised up to Level 7. Bathroom shower screen installation has reached Level 6.
