Building Caretaker/ Maintenance Officer - Brisbane

The Role
We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Officer to lead a small team in maintaining our residential buildings across Indooroopilly and the surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for an energetic all-rounder, providing a mix of team management and hands-on maintenance. You will be supervising a small team who will be responsible for cleaning the common areas and maintaining the gardens of our buildings. You will also be jumping on the tools to complete a wide variety of maintenance tasks across these buildings.

Supported by the Caretaking Team in our Brisbane head office, your duties will include:

  • Creating and monitoring maintenance schedules and checklists for your team
  • Performing scheduled and ad hoc maintenance tasks (patch and paints, tiling, pressure cleaning etc)
  • Managing external contractors
  • Proactively reporting on potential maintenance needs or issues and escalating these where required
  • Assisting your team in any large-scale cleaning or landscaping tasks that may arise
  • Maintaining the building to the highest standard, striving to ensure it remains a place that our residents love to come home to

We are searching for someone friendly and approachable who has:

  • High-level communication skills and the ability to engage with all personalities
  • The ability to delegate tasks and is confident showing leadership
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Basic handyman/maintenance skills
  • The ability to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
  • A basic understanding of building services, operations and caretaking agreements is a plus
