Quite a lot of ground work has already been completed since commencing only a couple of weeks ago. A good start was made with the site preliminaries established, including boundaries pegged out, site fencing installed, water and temporary builder’s power connected, and temporary fencing erected. Earthworks were completed to level the site and remove approximately 100m³ of soil. A portion of the excavated material has been stockpiled in the middle of the site for future use backfilling behind retaining walls. Footings for boundary retaining walls were excavated and the steel fixing and the starter bars for these boundary retaining wall footings installed. Concrete strip footings for the boundary retaining walls were also poured.
Scheduled for August is the completion of the block work for the boundary retaining walls and the detention tank walls, applying a waterproof membrane to the back sides of these walls and installing drainage lines behind the retaining walls before backfilling with suitable drainage material. Underground, the civil stormwater and waste water drainage lines will be run throughout the site as well as the electrical conduits to the eventual location of the mainframe and meter boards. Piers will be installed to either side of the stormwater line running through the site, to ensure that building loads are transferred to either side of the line and not directly on it. Strip and pad footings for the ground floor slab will be laid, prior to the forming of the ground floor slab. From here we start heading upwards, which is an exciting period for the project.
Our experienced team will continue to drive the works on site while ensuring the build quality is maintained, to enable practical completion of the development to be reached around mid-March 2015.
