  • Apartments are facing the best solar orientation (North/North East), with openings in the western-facing facade kept to a minimum.
  • Passive solar design is incorporated throughout, including generous balconies, large openings sun screening and the reduction of openings to the Western façade. The result is an optimised, energy-efficient home.
  • Careful consideration has been given to natural ventilation. Light-wells for internal units encourage cross-ventilation.
    Thoughtful communal area planning maximises natural airflow and sunlight to penetrate deep into the site, benefiting all apartments, regardless of position.
  • Residential corridors are naturally ventilated, eliminating the need for air-conditioning in low-use common areas.
  • Deep planting of indigenous, robust plant species exceeds the minimum Council requirement by nearly double. Native plant selection will significantly reduce watering requirements. A rainwater harvesting tank will also be installed for irrigation of communal landscaping.
  • Solar panels will be installed on the rooftop feeding back into collective power demands, offsetting usage and additional costs to resident’s body corporate fees.
    Horizontal spandrels are adopted instead of typical vertical spandrels to offer additional sun shading to glazed elements of the apartments, therefore reducing heat loads.
